Watercolour Art

Last week for art we did watercolour. We had to get clean water and mix it into paint to make it either darker or lighter. I didn't do to good though. You can make it real white so the colour isn't that visible, or you can make it very visible and make it dark. There are many ways to do this but that was the main one I knew. Here is one of my photos.

It's not my better ones but it's the only one I could find. This was pretty fun to do but I wasn't the best at it. Thank you for reading my blog post and have a good day or night goodbye!

Holiday Blog (S P I L E S)

Hello everyone today I am going to be talking about what I did in my holiday. I am doing a S P I L E S thing about it, it is similar to an acrostic poem but it has a few differences to it. Here is my 'S P I L E S'.

The things I did for my social well being would be playing on my PlayStation with some of my friends.

For my physical well being a bit of basketball with my friend and my Dad.

I played Minecraft with my friends which extended my brain to what they were thinking if they were building a house or trading with me.

I enjoyed going to this trampoline place with my friend (the place was called Launch Pad).

On the holidays I was mainly happy because it was just chill most of the holiday.

I succeeded in playing my games and getting a high level in most of them.

Here are a couple photos of launch pad.

My holidays were really fun. I can't wait until the Christmas holidays because it's longer then all the others. Have a good day or night and i'll hopefully see you on my next blog post goodbye!

School At Level 2

Hello everyone, today I am going to be talking about school in level 2. School in level 2 is quite different to normal school due to drinking fountains being shut. No Kahui meetings, no Friday sports and no sports in general. Since I've been back from level 3 and 4 my friends and I have been playing 3 second held. My friend Jacob has the ball for it. Yesterday, Luke hurt himself because Jacob kneed him on accident. He is feeling a little bit better today, but it still hurts. Basically for Interval and Lunch that is what we play because it is really fun.

Thank you for reading my blog post, sorry it was a short one but I just wanted to catch you up about what I have been doing in Level 2 school. Again thank you for reading and have a good day or night goodbye!

The Empty Pot

Hello everyone, today I am going to be telling you about a story and the work we did about the story. The first thing we had to do was write a sentence of the questions we got asked. After we did that we had to write a word-find about the story. Now I will be telling you about the story.

The empty pot is a story about a boy trying to become an empire. The empire was getting old and he had to pass the empire place to someone else. The empire gave out fake seeds to everyone to see who lied. They had an whole year to try and grow the fake plant. After the year everyone came with grown plants. Ping was very disappointed because he had no plant in his pot and everyone else did. When the empire was looking around to see everyone plants he was disappointed that everyone lied and bring there own plant. Then he saw Ping without a seed. He pointed at Ping and asked him "why are you here with no plant?" Ping said "my seed didn't grow but I promise I tried my very best.". The empire wrapped his arm around Ping's shoulder and said to everyone "I now announce a new Empire.". Ping was confused but very happy.

Here is a photo of the cover.

That is a basic summary of the story. This was a cool story and I'd recommend it. Thank you for reading my blog post have a good day or night goodbye!

My Lock Down 2021

Hello everyone, today I am going to be telling you about how my lock down has gone so far. As most of you would know New Zealand got into lock down on the 17th of August, Tuesday. For our work in Miss Alpers class, we had to do a scavenger hunt and how our lock down is going. Today I will just be telling you about how my lock down is going. Here is what I write about it.

This lockdown has been pretty boring. There’s not much to do and nothing is really open to do either. But I do enjoy the homemade food we make at home, for some reason we are making even fancier food than normal. I have been keeping up with Covid to see what has been happening lately and I think Jacinda Ardern is doing amazing.  Personally, lockdown isn’t the worst but I wouldn’t want to be stuck in it again.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. How is your lock down going (if your in it)? Thank you for reading my blog post and I will hopefully see you on my next one. Bye!

Fiji Beats New Zealand Sevens

Today for my Hurumanu class with Mrs Alpers we were doing work about Fijis win over  New Zealand. There were many things that happens during the time before the game. We had to fill in the blank spots about what happens before and a little bit after the game. Now I will show you the document we made.

Olympic Gold was won by the Fiji Rugby Sevens team in Tokyo last evening (NZ time).

The game was against Fiji who ended up winning the gold Medals.

Fiji’s captain is emotional about the win. He said this win was very special because they had to go into Lockdown after Easter. They have not seen their family since.  They spent most of that time shut up in a hostel in a room training in a gym they built in a garage.

When they were on their way to Japan the Fijian team got stuck on a plane, along with some crates full of frozen fish.

These experiences helped them form a very tight group of people which makes for a great team.

Here is a image of the winners.

Thank you for reading my blog post. Have a good day or night and I will hopefully see you on my next blog post. Goodbye!

Hands On Fire (Science Experiment)

Hello everyone, today I am going to be telling you about one of my favourite things I have done in science, this experiment was hands on fire. I think I got one of the biggest flames, now I will be telling you the steps we had to do and then I will show you a video of my friend hands on fire because I don't have a video.

First Step: The first thing we did is get safety glasses.

Second Step: The second thing we did was get water on our hands and half our arms.

Third Step: Then we would get a little bit more water.

Fourth Step: The fourth step is when the teacher that did it for us (Mr Stock) would turn the gas on in a bucket that can make bubbles (I don't know what he did to get bubbles).

Fifth Step: The fifth step was to get a big handful of bubbles and then we would go to the green towel where he would light our hands on fire.

Sixth Step: The sixth step you'd do is wait until the person setting your hands on fire "set your hands on fire". Once he did that and your hands started to get hot you would put your hands into a stop sign and then the fire would stop.

Now I'll show you the video of my friend doing it.

Thank you for reading my blog. This was a really fun experiment and it is very memorable. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, unless you have a professional doing it for you. Again thank you for reading my blog post and have a good day or night goodbye.

Finished Logo Design (Art Class)

Hello everyone, today I am going to be talking about our personal logos we have been making. Just a mini recap is that in art class we have been making our own logos and mine is a rugby ball with a UFO as the main logo and STEEMING as the letters in bold for the middle. So my one is a combination logo. Now I will show you a picture of it and then reflect on it.

My personal logo design is printed very well, the background looks cool and everything. The black ink I used was very good with what I did because the background looking just as good as the ball did. The lines stand out nicely and is pretty clear but not as good as I wanted it to be. There are lots of ink around the place so that's what makes it look good. There are a few places where there should be some black ink but sadly I cut it on accident.

My logo explains a little bit about me on how I like playing Rugby League but I think I could explain a little bit more about me on it instead of putting a UFO on it which doesn't explain anything at all about me. But I think I like the word steeming on it more then if I put my name on it.  My ball does have a cool positive and negative space on it. It is balanced really nicely in my opinion, because the black ink is the ball and ink and the white bits are the arrows and that.

Overall i'm really proud of what I did. There weren't many mistakes in my logo which is good. Thank you for reading my blog, feel free to leave a comment because I want to see what you all think of it aswell. Have a good day or night and I'll see you on my next blog goodbye.

Hour Of Coding

Hello everyone, today I am going to be talking about an app we having been doing for one of our Hurumanu classes. This site is a thing where you code games or play games and code it to get past levels. This app is really fun and I enjoy this app a lot. I have been doing 2 main games, one of them is a game that you can play around with and the other one is where there are different levels to complete.

First Game

This game is where you do what the people say to do until your at the last level. This game is all about coding and just for beginners for coding. You have to code animals that are dancing and you get to pick which animal you want to code to dance.

Game Two

This game is the one with many different levels. You have to code on how to escape the dungeon. You can pick which character you want to use, if you want your strength to be high you'd pick the character with the highest attacking power. This game is really fun to play and I can't wait until I can get on the site and play it again.

Thank you for reading my blog post. If you would like to try this site out click one of the links or this one to get into the actual site. Again thank you for reading my blog and I will hopefully see you on my next one.

Logo Design (Art Class)

Hello everyone, today I am going to be telling you what we have been doing in art class. This has been a very long process and it's been very fun doing. I have made a rugby ball design, I will be telling you on what it looks like.

I am making a rugby ball logo, the main logo is a UFO looking thing and the words are STEEMING in bubble letter and coloured in black. There are arrows pointing at the Logo and the letters in the middle. The arrows are also coloured in black. There are diamond looking things at the 2 sides of the ball (left and right). There are 2 W's on each side of the UFO (the UFO is in the top middle). The word (STEEMING), UFO, the 2 sides and the arrows are the positive things and the negative things are the white inside the ball. The design doesn't describe much about me but the ball does because I enjoy playing Rugby League.

Thank you for reading my blog post. I hope you enjoyed it, I am sorry the outline of the ball isn't there. Have a good day or night goodbye.

Science Experiment (Looking At Micros Through A Microscope)

Hello everyone, today I am going to be talking about a science experiment we did today. This was a pretty fun and easy thing to do. I will be telling you about the things we had to do before we look through the microscope.

The first thing we had to do was get an bit of an onion and peel of one thick layer at the top (it was like the skin part). Then we placed it on a slide and put a drop of stain thing on top. After that we went to a microscope and fiddled with it for a little bit until we found a cool piece of micros. Sorry I have no photos of it because it was in a microscope but I do have some photos on google that look similar to ours.

Overall this was a fun science experiment too do. I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Have a good day or night and I hope to see you on my next blog post, bye!

My Logo Research

Hello everyone, today I am going to be showing you some of my favourite logos for art. For art this term I am 99.9 percent sure that we are creating our own logos. We had to pick 10 logos and pick some of our favourite logos out of the 10. They wanted us to pick 2-3 but I picked 4 because I couldn't pick which one I could take out. Here is my google drawing of my "research".

Thank you for reading my blog post. I'll hopefully see you on my next one goodbye.

Taste, Tongue And Smell Flavours

Hello everyone, today I am going to be talking about an science experiment we did. We had lollies and square fruits. First i'm going to be talking about the lollies.

For the lollies we had to guess the flavour by closing our eyes and putting out hand out. I got 3 right but me and my group had a tie breaker so we had to do it again. Me and 1 of them got 2 but the other one got 3 so he won. Now I will be telling you the Methods for this then I will show you a diagram of the results.

Method 1: Close your eyes and hold your nose.                                                                                     Method 2: Put your hand out and your friend should put the food on your palm.                                 Method 3: Eat the food and guess what colour or flavour it is.

Here is a picture of the results for the whole class.

Now for the square fruits, we got 5 different types of square fruits. There were many different flavours like radish, raw potato and others. We had to get a paper towel and put our food on it. I got more paper towels because I didn't know if I would like it or not. Me and my friend Zeki got 3 right and Yared got 2.

Now the last thing I will be talking about is different types of flavours on your tongue. We had to taste salt and other things. I tasted the salt and it was not nice at all. The back of my tongue tasted bitter, the front of my tongue was sweet, the right side of my tongue was sour and the left side of my tongue was salty.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. See you on my next blog post goodbye.
